Collaborative Consumption is a phrase that seems to have emerged recently from business consultancy and literature. It's a phrase that was invented elsewhere, but actually we've being doing it in the IT industry for years, just under a different name. As usual the IT industry used a TLA (Three Letter Acronym) to describe it. In the IT industry we called it an MSP service, where MSP stands for Managed Service Provider.
IT Support As Collaborative Consumption
Instead of employing a whole IT person many businesses share IT resource with other companies by outsourcing it - in other words Collaborative Consumption. The vehicle for sharing this resource is an IT Services company that acts effectively as a pool of resource that you can use as you need it.
The 7 The Benefits Of Collaborative Consumption For IT Support Services
If you decide to go down the collaborative route instead of hiring your own IT person here are the benefits:
Access to an entire team of IT knowledge rather than being restricted to the knowledge of a single IT Support engineer.
1. You do not require the knowledge, skills or experience to manage IT support engineers.
2. You don't need to spend the management time to manage IT Support engineers.
3. You are not paying for idle resource if you don't have enough work for a full-time IT Support person.
4. Conversely you have access to a much bigger pool of IT Support resource. This allows you to quickly and inexpensively scale up to deal with the peaks of requirement beyond a single in-house IT Support person.
5. No coverage issues during holidays and illness.
6. Continuity of service as you don't need to worry about an employee suddenly leaving.
7. The Extra IT Support Benefits Of An MSP Service
Many businesses pay for their IT Support on an hourly basis - the IT Support industry calls this Break-Fix. Basically it means that the IT Support Company only fixes what's broken - no prevention, no maintenance. And if it takes a long time for them to fix the problem, then you pay a lot. And if they need to return to fix it again you pay again, and again, and again.
The 4 Additional Benefits of an IT Support Managed Service
The alternative is an MSP Service. With a Managed Service you pay a fixed price for an agreed range of IT services - usually all the services to manage and maintain your network on a proactive basis and provide you with unlimited help desk facilities for your staff. In our heart of hearts, even if we can't always prove it, we all know that ultimately problem prevention is cheaper than cure.
That's ultimately why purchasing your IT Support as a managed service is cheaper than just buying hours. Here are the 4 main benefits of a Managed Service over and above Break-Fix:
1. Fixed monthly price.
2. Proactive maintenance that prevents many, but not all, IT problems happening in the first place.
3. Use of IT management systems that you would never know of or be able to afford just yourself:
Automation
Monitoring
Load balancing
Knowledgebase
Speed of operation
4. Faster fixes and less downtime because the IT company knows your system and is proactively managing it for you.
All of this translates into less downtime, less unbudgeted expense and ultimately lower costs. So in summary, buying IT Support time is more cost effective than doing it yourself in-house. You can decide how far you want to go down the collaborative consumption route. If you go the MSP route you get more than collaborative access to time - you get all of the lower cost service by leveraging the expertise and systems if your IT Support Company.

Since its release in November 2007, Amazon's Kindle has taken a stronghold in the highly competitive eBook Reader marketplace with its continued evolution. Amazon has addressed many of the complaints of earlier models, such as the weight, slow page turning and awkward navigation buttons to make the Kindle standout as the e-Reader to beat.
The third-generation Kindle - The Kindle DX, is distinctly larger than previous Kindles with its 9.7" diagonal E Ink display, making it suitable for viewing a broader range of reading material such as newspapers and magazines. Although the display is now bigger, the Kindle has an even thinner profile than its earlier iterations, being just over 1/3 of an inch thick.
On paper, the Kindle DX looks impressively feature packed, but can it replace the good old book? Read on to find out.
Features of the Kindle DX
Slim profile - Only 1/3 thickLarge 9.7" high contrast E Ink Pearl DisplayFree 3G Wireless access in over 100 countriesStores up to 3,500 BooksAuto Rotating DisplayPDF Reader built-in5-Way ControllerRead to me, text to speech featureEnhanced reading functions
Hands on
The Kindle DX feels somewhat heavier than the Kindle 2, but due to its very slim profile, it remains comfortable to hold with two hands. It can be held with only one hand, but it's more comfortable to hold with two hands, however.
The new E-Ink pearl display is very impressive. The large screen means you get much more text per page than previous Kindle's, resulting in less page turns. The effects of the acclaimed 50% better contrast are evident. The text on screen looks crisp, dark and clear, making reading a pleasant experience. In comparison to the original Kindle DX, blacks look distinctly more solid.
The dark grey graphite border results in less eye strain than having the white border of the original Kindle DX, as your eyes are better focused on the display.
Navigation
In terms of navigation, it's very similar to the Kindle 2 except all the navigation keys are now on the right and the keyboard is smaller.
The previous/next page buttons are no longer on the left side. Having page controls on only one side is something I don't like as it makes accessing these buttons a little awkward when you are turning pages in the landscape mode.
Using the keyword is a bit awkward as the keys are small and spaced wide apart. Ergonomically the keyboard isn't well designed as you cannot reach the keys with your thumbs when holding the Kindle by the sides. I would have preferred the keyboard to be divided into two sections for better accessibility.
Page turns seem quicker than the original DX, but it's still a bit more sluggish than with an LCD based eBook reader due to the slow refresh rate of the e-Ink screen. In comparison with turning a page of a regular book, the speed is very similar though.
Auto Rotating Display
The auto rotating display feature is great. You can read material such as newspapers, maps and magazines more comfortably by turning the Kindle horizontally. One issue though is that you only need to rotate the screen about 45 degrees for the screen rotation to be triggered, so if you like to lie back and read, you may need to lock the orientation via the menu to prevent any unwanted screen rotation occurring.
Storage
The Kindle DX can hold up to 3,500 books/documents so it's well equipped to store many people's book collection.
There is no memory card reader, so if you use up the 3GB+ space then you cannot expand the memory. This is something I would have liked included, as certain documents can eat up a lot of storage space.
Web Browser
The web browser is a nice feature especially as the wireless access is free. It only provides basic browsing though, so don't expect to be browsing flash or a java based sites as they aren't supported.
Battery Life
The battery life is very satisfactory. After one charge it lasts about three weeks with Wi-Fi off. With Wi-Fi turned on, usage is reduced to about one week.
Final Thoughts
The Kindle DX is slim, lightweight and has a good quality large display making it easy on the eye whilst reading even in sunlight. It does have its design faults though however; most notably, the keyboard is awkward to use and the lack of page turning buttons on both sides.
Overall, if you're looking for a large screen eBook Reader for book reading then the Kindle DX is a fantastic choice, but for other purposes such as viewing PDF documents, surfing the net or taking notes, its limitations hold it back.

Laser printers and photocopiers use a black powder called toner to transfer images permanently onto paper whereas Inkjet printers use a water soluble dye in their printer ink cartridges. It is the permanent nature of toner ink that causes problems if they leak or if toner is spilt. Those of you old enough will remember toner was solely carbon based. This early day toner had to be decanted from large bottles into the copier or printer cartridge - these days the process is much simpler and safer as toner comes in fully sealed cartridges that are put into the machine intact. Modern toner is now mixed with polymer for better fusing or melting to the page. An objective behind using laser toner is to permanently imprint your paper and so it makes sense that the toner can also permanently stain other surfaces. This article gives some helpful hints of how to minimise the damage if you happen to suffer spillage from your toner ink cartridge.
Care is needed when cleaning toner spills:
Toner particles are extremely fine and are not suitable to vacuum as they will suck straight through the motor, out of the filter and into your room. If you have a large spill it is advisable to call a printer technician who will have a special vacuum with a highly refined HEPA filter. It is recommended that you wear disposable gloves and a face mask when faced with cleaning up a spill. The gloves will help protect your hands from staining and the mask will minimise breathing in particles (not necessarily toxic but are considered to be an irritant on the same level as dust).
Skin cleanse:
Small amounts of unfused toner can usually be washed off skin or clothing - but only use COLD water. It will eventually wear off your skin or you could try will washing your skin with face or hand cleanser.
Clothing warning:
If you spill toner on your clothes do not try to wipe or wash it off. Instead try to force it out by hitting the stain from the back of the fabric. Then wipe with a clean dry cloth after which you can wash it in COLD water. For best results wash it a second time in cold water. Only when you are sure the stain is removed can you dry it in the dryer or iron it. Remember - do not rub the toner into fabric nor apply warm water or other heat source as the toner will permanently bind to your fabric.
Hard surfaces:
Small spills on hard surfaces can be removed by lightly sweeping with a soft paint brush - but do not do this vigorously as you want to prevent the toner floating off into the air. You could also try a tissue slightly dampened in COLD water. Do not use cleaning solvents as the chemicals may react or melt the components of the toner which may then stain.
Finally, always buy ink and toner cartridges from sellers that you trust such as Ink Depot who only stock high quality fully guaranteed ink and toner printer cartridges.
Disclaimer: we are not recommending any of the above methods of cleaning up leakage from printer ink cartridges and do not take any responsibility for outcomes. This article has been generated by researching numerous internet sources about stain removal and has not been tested or assessed by the author in anyway.

Digital signage is basically implemented for advertising, promotion and information purposes and is one of the fastest growing global industries.
This kind of enclosures primarily helps the LCDs to operate as normal TV systems for Outdoor digital signage. Rainfall, gangue particles and accidental or intentional impacts will lead to permanent disability of the devices.
Though LCD TV enclosures come in all shapes and sizes but there primary advantage is to allow conventional, off-the-shelf televisions to be used in harsh environments. There are different types of LCD enclosures depending upon its application.
For example, digital posters allow portrait placing of the LCD displays which are used primarily in indoor locations like shopping malls and retail centres. Sometimes they are also combined with interactive devices such as maps that provides with a complete digital signage kiosk. There are different types of LCD enclosure are available as dual screen signage systems ideal for the tops of taxi. Though there are different enclosures for different purposes, each of them are manufactured with the sole intention of protecting them from the harsh environment such as:
Outdoor Digital Signage:
Outdoor digital signage is regarded as an effective form of marketing, advertising and branding. It has many advantages as compared to indoor digital signage as there is a larger crowd which leads to a promotion at a bigger scale. Moreover there is lesser competition and has a low cost. It allows scheduled contents and multiple adverts on a single screen.
Outdoor Information Screens:
Another use of outdoor screens is to provide information. This can be used as maps and way finding which allows interaction between the machine and travellers through touch screen and also around bus stops to provide timetable information.
These are ideal due to its real time ability to display information which means instant updates as soon as the information is relayed.
Outdoor TVs:
Most commonly used as an exterior TV. Since smoking has been banned in pubs and bars, TVs have been installed in the beer gardens to provide customers entertainment and also to watch sports events. Some households also install TVs in their backyard and barbecue areas so that the family can spend more time together, enjoying the summers without missing their favourite shows.
They are build according to the international guidelines of NEMA standards (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) or the European IP rating.Using LCDs and plasma has become a common practice since these are easier to mount and use. The rise of digital signage, LCD displays (and plasmas) are now a ubiquitous sight around shopping malls, concourses, airports and in retail stores.

These external advertisements which include display, media player and connectivity are quite valuable. But with increasing number of malls, train stations, airports, ferry ports the demand for the LCD Enclosures has also increased.
Since previously there used to be threats of vandalism and thefts, companies used to be afraid of displaying their outdoor signage. Imagine these digital signages in the roughest neighbourhood where it was hardly imaginable of displaying any advertisements. This has not only increased security sense among the companies to invest more and more in these for various promotion purposes.
With the advent of plasma and LCDs, more and more people are adapting to it. Whereas some prefer to keep them in their backyards others love it in their pool sides. But in both these cases, the chances of getting damaged are at a higher probability. The dust and water being the prime factors behind the damages, as storms and thunders don't arrive with a warning. It is like dumping your most prized possession in the dumping ground only to find a few days later that its nothing more than a piece of junk. If you're thinking that it's just a piece of wielded box, then you're absolutely wrong. It's what is inside that makes it different from the others.. It has an easily accessible door which provides quick access to the display. Some of them also include a built-in-fan and a filter system for example the protective TV case needs to be either IP65 (European standard) or NEMA 4X (US standard) for preventing water access. If you are looking for something to protect from dust, you have to consider a unit with an IP56 standard. The best option is to put a NEMA 4X unit out there and you know it is fine for all year protection
The latter is the best option as the screen radiates a considerable amount of heat and it is really important to protect it from rain, snow and sleet as well. Not only this but even during the colder climatic conditions you must have a heater to keep the moisture at bay to avoid any kind of circuitry corrosion with the moisture.
LCD enclosures have been specially designed keeping your thoughts in mind. The designs and the protection it provides from harsh weather conditions and tampering have made the companies feel secure towards their investment in outdoor advertisements. Each of these enclosures have their own special quality, so before purchasing be sure why you want it and relieve all your tensions...

You can use your flash drive as an installer of many different kinds of applications. In fact, there are often portable versions of apps designed specifically for installation and use on USB drives.
The following are some of the programs people store on USB devices in case of emergency, and just for the convenience of portability:
• Windows 7
• Ubuntu
• Linux
• Limewire
• Firefox
• Flash Player
• Microsoft USB Flash Drive Manager
Formatting Software on Your PC for Copying to Flash Drive
To copy programs on your hard drive over to a usb drive:
1. Connect your USB thumb drive to your computer.
2. Once your PC finds the removable device click on Computer and double click the C: drive.
3. Open Program Files and scroll down to find the program you are copying.
4. Minimize the window and go back to Computer. Double click on the removable usb drive icon.
5. Pull up the Program Files window and drag and drop the program file into the flash drive window. Sometimes the copy process can take awhile, particularly if you are copying a large program.
6. Close both windows and then return to Computer. Right-click on the removable flash drive icon and select Eject. (Make sure you always do this before you remove your thumb drive to protect your data!)
Portable Apps
Installing portable apps on a flash drive is pretty simple.
1. Once you find the app you want to install, make sure it's a portable version. A USB version is even better if you can find it.
2. Download the program to your thumb drive.
3. Find the program's installer on your drive and open it to start the installation.
4. Follow the installation instructions to complete.
5. To run the program, plug in your USB and open the icon on your desktop.
6. Double click on the executable file (.exe). Some portable software will run automatically when plugged in.
Bootable Drives
You can turn your flash drive into a bootable drive as long as it's a big enough one (between 256MG and 2G). To create a bootable flash drive:
Insert your Windows DVD (XP, Vista, 7) into your PC's optical drive. Open the folder and find the "Boot" folder. Copy the "bootsect.exe" file to your C: drive.
1. Insert your USB drive and click on Computer.
2. Right-click on the removable flash drive and select Format.
3. Go to your Start menu and type "cmd" in the search field.
4. Right-click on Command Prompt and click on Run as Administrator (you may have to enter your password).
5. Now type "diskpart" in the command prompt window and hit return.
6. Type "list volume" and then hit enter for a listing of all your available drives (it's a good idea to make sure your flash drive is the only thing plugged into a USB port to avoid confusion). Make note of the drive's letter and number, maybe write it down too!
7. In the command prompt type "select volume (fill in appropriate drive here)" and hit enter.
8. Type "activate" and hit return and "exit" and return.
9. Then type "cd C:"
10. Enter "bootsect.exe/nt60 (fill in appropriate drive here):" and then hit return. After the process is done, your drive should be fully bootable.
11. Copy the contents of the Windows disc to the flash drive.

The Logitech Dual-Action USB game controller provides a great bang for the buck. Cheap, portable, and customizable, this controller stands out from other wired PC controllers. It's certainly not the most attractive device, but what it lacks in appearance, it gains in performance. Black or dark blue in color, this controller is shaped to almost ergonomic perfection for fitting in any gamer's hands, and won't fall out due to the nice rubber grips lining the outer sides of the controller. The layout of the controller uses the polished layout of the PlayStation 2-style controllers that almost every gamer has grown used to.
This controller doesn't connect through the old, giant joystick ports, but instead through USB 2.0, so there is no noticeable lag between a button being pressed and the assigned command being executed in-game, so you don't have to worry about getting killed while you're waiting for your character to shoot, and you are guaranteed to have a port for the controller, since all computers now have USB ports. The USB cable from the controller is just long enough that you don't have to worry about pulling it out of your PC while playing, but not too long to have extra slack to catch on corners or chair legs.
For most games, you need to have Logitech's lightweight "WingMan" program running for the games to recognize the controller. This program has excellent options for various game profiles and support for multiple controllers. The program even auto-detects a large amount of games and assigns the default controller layout for you! If you wish to assign your own control scheme, you have a few options to go about doing it, you just have to figure out what works best for you.
In many newer PC video games, the game's native Xbox 360 controller support will pick up on the Logitech Dual Action USB controller and not even require configuration at all, which is very convenient. For those that do require button configuration and/or the Logitech WingMan software, there are only a few steps you must take to configure the controller for the desired game and get started playing!
Overall, this controller is comfortable, reliable, easy-to-use, and affordable. This controller is perfect for any PC gamer with console roots or any console gamer that wants to try out PC gaming, but has trouble adapting to the mouse and keyboard format. Most PC controllers that are more expensive don't even compare to the Logitech Dual-Action USB controller, so why waste the money?

A password is something just about everyone has to deal with, often on a daily basis. We all have many passwords: the PIN number of our debit cards, the voicemail on our phones. Of course on our computer we have many passwords: when we log into our email, on various websites like our online banking, and the most important one of all - the user password. This is also the most overlooked, and the cause of many an easily avoided problem.
On Apple computers, everything comes down to the User. When you first set up your computer and put in your name, you are creating a User identity for yourself on this computer. It may be the only one you have, if you're lucky enough to not have to share your computer. You could have multiple user accounts: Mom, Dad, Kids or Home and Business for example. Each user is self-contained and has its own folders and files, and most importantly its own password. That password is responsible for keeping your data and your Mac safe. Here then are the top five dos and don'ts of passwords:
Do NOT Forget Your User Account Password: I know, it's obvious. But let's face it, we all forget things. Think of it this way: if you forget what room the remote control is in, or if you left the tub running or the oven on, none of that matters if you're standing outside your front door without your keys. The user account password is like that main key to your home: without it, you can't get to any of the important things inside the home. Apple computers include an application called Keychain Access which remembers all the passwords to your online banking, your email accounts, everything. You only need one password to retrieve any of those passwords - guess which one? Resetting your user account password may require using the OS X install disc, so please just write it down and keep it someplace safe.
Do make your password memorable but difficult to guess. As tempting as it may be, avoid the easy ones. You'd be surprised how many people use "password" as their password. How complicated your password is depends on how open your computer is to others - laptops are out in the world and could be lost or stolen, office computers may be in an open area. Passwords that are easy to guess include your name, names of loved ones, birthdays, etc. Usually a combination of numbers and letters is good. A fascinating article about he math involved in cracking passwords even suggests "this is fun" is an effective password, primarily due to the spaces. Find the balance between what you can remember, and what others cannot guess.
Do NOT use the same password for everything. Another surprisingly common practice, it's also the most dangerous - once a hacker has one password, they will try that one first on their next attempt. If your password is "princess" for example, they will try that on your online banking account and have access to your money. It is worth a slight inconvenience of having multiple passwords to avoid a huge problem later.
Do change your password on a regular basis. This makes it more difficult to guess your password, and keeps you safe if someone did guess your last password. You should always change your password if you think it's possible that someone you don't know was on your computer without your permission - a strong possibility for computers in an office or public setting. Many people pop into that staff meeting and leave their computer on the desk open to anyone passing by, which leads to:
Do lock your screensaver. This may not be applicable to everyone, for example those with a Mac that stays in the home with no one else accessing it. For those with a laptop or those in an open office setting, this is an easy step to take to keep your Mac safe. Open System Preferences, then click Security in the top row of choices. Under the General tab, the first choice is a check box labeled "Require password after sleep or screen saver begins" with a pulldown for how long you want it to wait before requiring a password. You can adjust how long it takes before the screen saver appears under the Desktop & Screen Saver section of the System Preferences. This way, when you walk away from your Mac, no one will be able to do anything on it without entering your password.

If you are interested in learning more about computers, then a little PC knowledge can take you a long way. Computers are constantly having issues; they get bogged down, lock up and even quit working all together. If you don't have a solid understanding of your computer then it can become frustrating as well as costly to have to let someone else deal with the problems. Most of the computer problems are basic and easily prevented and/or fixed with just a few simple instructions. You should familiarize yourself with the components of your computer, understand how they work, what they do and once you do, everything becomes so much easier to handle on your own.
Safety and Security
The most common problems with computers is malware and viruses that infect the system through the internet. With some basic PC knowledge you can prevent a great deal of these issues. It cannot be screamed loud enough that anti-virus software has to be installed on your computer and that you HAVE to update it on a regular basis. Every time you visit a website, open an e-mail or even turn your system on for that matter since most are connected wirelessly you are at risk of having your information stolen, erased or your system compromised in one way or another.
There are several great anti-virus programs out there and even though the top brands are more costly, they do have more secure features than some of the lower grade ones, so get a good one. Malware can create problems in your systems registry and this will in turn create a slower computer, a computer that locks up and even that blue screen of death that we all dread when we turn our computers on. By installing a good anti-virus program and keeping it updated you can prevent many of the common issues that computer users face.
PC Knowledge about Your Components
Maybe you don't feel like you should know about the hardware that makes your system run, maybe you want to spend the money on letting someone else install, replace or repair your computer components, if that's the case then don't worry about reading any further. If you do want to understand how your system works so that you can save time and money then take the time to learn about the components in your system. Most any computer issue can be resolved without the help of a professional; there is no reason why you could not take care of installing, replacing or repairing your system with a little PC knowledge.
So, what's inside your computer and what makes it work? Inside your case you will find a power supply, this has cords that feed power to the motherboard, hard drive and Rom drives. The motherboard is where everything comes together, the CPU, memory, video, sound, Ethernet and all your drives will connect to it for its main power source. The CPU is your central processing unit and is what determines your systems speed; the memory will also work to increase your systems speed and even the video when using software that uses video memory to operate. In many cases the video, sound and wireless internet is integrated onto the motherboard, but there are open slots on the board that will allow you to add on if you want to upgrade your system or increase its efficiency. Most of your components such as hard drives, DVD-R's CD-Rom's, memory, video cards, sound cards and even Ethernet cards are all plug and play. This basically means, very little PC knowledge is needed to install or replace these components. You simply remove the case cover and install them in the proper slots and turn your system on. You will be promoted if any software or drivers are needed to complete the installation and you simply run the CD that came with the hardware just as if you were installing a new game.
You do not need to be A+ Certified or even have a background in computers or computer hardware; with the information that is available on the internet you could be building your new mega system from scratch in just a few short hours.

If you're experiencing the "Physical Memory Dump" error with Adobe Photoshop, there are going to be a number of possible issues that will be preventing this application from being able to operate correctly. Fortunately, the way to resolve this problem is actually very simple, and can be done by following the steps on this page.
What Is The "Physical Memory Dump" Error?
This error is basically the *result* of a problem on your system. Many people make the mistake of thinking the error is actually the problem, but it's not. The Physical Memory Dump error is basically the result of your PC being unable to correctly process the files & settings that it requires to run - leading your system to just crash.
The error itself just means that Windows will be saving your settings in a safe location on your hard drive (the hard drive is known as a "physical" storage device, and the saving of the files as the "dump"), as a fail safe mechanism to protect your settings from corruption. This means that the error can show if you're just using Photoshop, or if you have a number of potential issues with the settings on your PC. You have to be able to repair the errors that are causing this error, and not focus on the error itself.
How To Fix This Error
1) Restart Into "Safe Mode" & Test Photoshop
The first step is to restart your computer into "Safe Mode", which will allow your PC to run much smoother and more reliably. To do this, you have to be able to restart your system, press F8 continually before it loads and then select "Safe Mode With Networking". This will basically load Windows up without any of the software which could be responsible for the errors with Photoshop - giving us a great benchmark to see whether our system has problems with its hardware or software.
If you test out Photoshop for about 20 minutes in safe mode - see whether it crashes. If it does, then it's going to be a hardware compatibility problem on your PC and should be taken to a PC repair specialist. If it doesn't crash, it's good news because we can fix it very easily.
2) Re-Install Photoshop
The next step is to re-install Photoshop. This program is one of the most complex available, and is continually being used to help ensure that your system is able to process the important files & options that your PC needs to run. If you have problems with this system, it's recommended that you re-install it to get rid of all the problems it will have on your PC. This can be done by using these steps:
Click onto Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove ProgramsSelect PhotoshopRemove The ProgramRestart your PCInstall this software again
3) Update Your PC's Graphics Drivers
The next step is to update the graphics drivers of your PC in order to ensure that your system is able to run much smoother and more effectively. We've found that the most common reason why Photoshop will have problems will be down to the graphics drivers on your system being unreliable or corrupted. To fix this, you should click onto Start > Control Panel > Device Manager, and then select the graphics device on your PC - which you should then right-click onto, and select "Update Drivers"
We also recommend cleaning out the registry of your computer. This is where Photoshop stores all of its most important settings, allowing your computer to run as smoothly and effectively as possible. We've found the registry is continually causing many problems on Windows, and is one of the main culprits for the Physical Memory Dump error.
You can fix Physical Memory Dump errors on your PC by using the tutorial and tools on our website. You can Click Here to fix the Physical Memory Dump error on your system.

In addition to this, the system allows to use multiple headsets with just one base unit, which allows you to add 3 more people to the conference call. Therefore, you do not have to buy several Savi Office systems. It's enough to complete it with the needed number of spare headsets and chargers, which can be easily connected to the base unit system. For example, you are on the phone. Then suddenly you need your colleague to jump in and join the conversation. That is not a problem for Savi Office WO100. As mentioned earlier, multiple headsets connect to a single base and allow you to teleconference in a flash of time.
The specially designed software Persono Suite is included with the headset. Pesono Suite allows you to quickly switch between regular phone calls and VoiP calls, turn off the microphone and put calls on hold with just one click. Users can personalize Persono Suite functions, set their own parameters (such as ringtones, volume, etc.) To maximize user comfort, Savi Office (Convertible) allows you to use the headset with both and earhook or a headband, depending on your preference. That is undoubtedly a huge advantage. Moreover, the user can regulate the headset's wireless range. There are 3 main ranges: 10, 50 or 100 meters.
Here are some of the users' opinions about the product:
- I bought this headset several months ago. Sound quality is great and the system is also really simple and easy to get used to. The biggest advantage is the ability to switch from Computer VoiP to regular phone and even to conference between them. I also enjoy the wireless free range. Now I can roam around my office, get a cup of coffee without having to wait till the end of the call. What is important, the sound quality doesn't get worse if you are standing within the wireless range (I think somewhere between 100 meters).
- As some other people have mentioned before, the headset's main disadvantage is the headset's earphone. But nonetheless, in a few days you really get used to it. Because for me, the headset is all about the other things - great sound quality, wireless range, and flexibility.
It's up to you to decide whether the headset is worth the money. By the way, the average price is around 250-300 dollars. I personally think that among other office headset systems, Savi Office WO100 is the best combination of both quality and money.
Oh, I forgot to mention, all Plantronics Headsets offer a 1 year warranty. So I guess that does say something about quality, doesn't it?

If your computer is running slower, it will have a number of possible issues that will be preventing it from being able to access the files, settings or software which it requires to run. The bottom line is that in order to make a slow computer run faster, there are a number of things which need to be done in order to ensure it can read all the important settings that it needs to operate again. This tutorial is going to show you how to do this in the most effective way.
How To Make Windows Computers Run Faster
1) Clean Out Any Registry Errors
The first step is to clean out the various registry errors that your computer will have. "Registry" errors are all caused by the registry database of your system - which is a central directory of files & information that allows your computer to operate as smoothly as possible. The registry is responsible for storing the likes of your most recent emails, desktop wallpaper and even your passwords inside - and is a very important part of every Windows PC. Although the registry is continually being used to help ensure Windows is running smoothly, it can cause a lot of problems which makes it vital that you're able to fix the errors it may have. To do this, you should use a registry cleaner tool, as demonstrated here:
Download a registry cleaner from the InternetInstall itLet the registry cleaner check the speed of your PCIf it finds a significant amount of errors, let it fix the problems on your system
2) Defragment The Hard drive
Defragmenting your hard drive basically allows your system to read all the files that it needs to run. The problem with this is that each time you save a file onto your PC, it will be placed into a particular folder on your system. Although it's normally the case that folders will be used to help ensure that your system is able to run as smoothly as possible, it's continually the case that you'll have a lot of files which are saved incorrectly - which makes them "fragmented" on your hard drive. This problem is a big issue for many computers, and slows a lot of Windows PCs down. To fix it, you can follow these steps:
Click onto Start > All Programs > Accessories > System ToolsClick onto "Disk Defragmenter"Analyze the disk of your system and fix the errors it may have
3) Don't Install Any More Games
The Most important part about keeping your computer running smoothly is to take pro-active control of what you're doing, and ensure that you don't clutter your system with needless pieces of software. Obviously, the likes of a registry cleaner will benefit your system - but things such as games and other needless programs are not required, and should be avoided at all costs. One of the main reasons why people will have slow computers is because they will attempt to install a large number of different programs onto the system, making it vital that you are able to clean out the various problems that your system may have to boost your computer's speed and reliability in the best way possible.

Ideally, you should be able to submit a wide variety of formats to your online printer. It is of course in the nature of online printing to be more inclusive and accepting since it caters to a wide variety of markets and produces lots of different products. However, there will always be some file formats and configurations that will cause you trouble in online printing. In those situations and formats, it is sometimes actually best to redo your prints to the more appropriate type.
If you do not know exactly what are the right and wrong file formats/configurations in online printing then you are in the right place. I will tell you here all the formats and configurations that you should avoid. This should help you veer away from the wrong formats and of course produce the appropriate configurations all the time for online printing.
1. Drafts in a web image format - A web image format is basically a file format that is in low resolution, primed for fast loading in a web page over the Internet. These formats were created to that people do not have to wait a long time to see an image, especially with a slow connection.
The problem with these formats is that they are rendered in low resolution. While most newcomers think that the picture looks already good for printing, once you do print these types of images the pixels and the fuzziness will appear. That is why for online printing, such web formats should not be used.
So while it is possible to use documents in JPG, PNG and GIF format for online printing, it is a bad idea to do so. Unless they are really big files with resolutions of more than 300DPI, the best file format to print online is still the original document format made from the desktop publishing application.
2. Consumer file formats - Another file format that you should try to avoid submitting to an online printer would be consumer file formats. These are the formats made from typical commercial software and not specialized printing applications. Examples of these include, word document files from Microsoft Word or even the Open Document format from OpenOffice.org. These more simple and unwieldy formats can sometimes get skewed when they get converted to formal online printing, giving you a different result each time. That is why it is best to avoid submitting files like these for printing.
3. Super-Proprietary formats - Of course, sometimes, applications also have what we call the super proprietary formats. These are the document file formats that only open in one software alone and cannot be opened by other applications. While this can help ensure that the precise elements in your document file is not lost, super proprietary formats limit your choices of online printers to the ones that can actually open that file. So if you want to be flexible with who you want to print with, it is best to avoid super proprietary formats.
4. Documents out of template specifications - Lastly, you should avoid submitting document files to your online printer that are out of template specifications. Believe me, if your prints are out of the template with different settings and dimensions, there will always be a high chance that they will be converted by the online printer. Unless you are really printing purposefully out of those specifications, your prints will always look a bit awkward if you submit a file format like this. So it is best if you use templates when possible for online printing.
Great! Now you know what to avoid when it comes to submitting file documents to your online printer. Make sure you remember these items all the time.

If you're looking for an e-Book Reader and high levels of portability are important to you, then there is a good chance that Sony's e-Reader - the Sony PRS-300BC Reader Pocket Edition has caught your eye.
With its lightweight design and 5" display, the PRS-300BC is designed to provide great convenience and ease of use for the avid reader who wants true pocket sized portability. Have Sony got it right or should you wait for the next pocket edition? Read on further to find out.
Features of the Sony PRS-300BC Reader Pocket Edition
5" e-Ink DisplayLightweight and compactThree different font sizes for enhanced readabilityStores up to 350 books on the 512MB on-board memoryUp to 2 weeks reading on a single battery chargeLightweight and Compact
The PRS-300 is smaller than most traditional e-Readers. Its small profile is about the size of a paperback book so you can fit it in your pocket or purse, making it truly compact and ideal for travel.
Weighing in at just 7.76 oz, the lightweight of the PRS-300 makes it very comfortable to hold. It's remarkably well-balanced so you can comfortably hold it in one hand whilst navigating through the buttons and reading your favourite books.
Display
Reading on the PRS-300 is a joy to behold. With the paper-like e-Ink display, it's easy on the eye and just like reading a real book. The text is crisp and clear with great clarity even in brighter light environments.
There are 3 different font sizes which can be changed using one button, so you can choose a size to match your reading pleasure.
Downloading Books
Wi-Fi isn't included so you can't purchase books on the go unfortunately. Books are transferred via your PC or Mac using a mini USB cable. The transfer process is quick and simple; in terms of simplicity it's very similar to transferring files to an MP3 player. One advantage this gives you is that you have a backup copy of books on your computer.
The Sony Reader store has a large library of books to choose from. One problem is though; they are rather slow to add new titles in comparison with competitor's stores such as Amazon.
Most standard file formats are supported including e-Pub and PDF so you can download public domain books for free. An excellent feature is the ability to borrow books for free from your local library; this is a real money saver. However, not all library's offer this so check with your local library first if this is a feature which appeals to you.
Battery Life
A power adapter isn't included so to charge the device, you need to connect it to your computer using the supplied USB cable. However, an adapter can be purchased separately. The battery life is very impressive; you can get up to 2 weeks usage from a single charge, which equates to about 7,500 page turns.
Final Thoughts
The Sony PRS-300BC Reader Pocket Edition is a beautifully designed e-Book Reader. Being a Sony product I expected quality, but this e-Reader has really surpassed my expectations. Its compact design, great display, long battery life and easy navigation make the PRS-300BC an excellent all rounder.
On the downside, there is no memory slot so you cannot extend the memory once you've used up the 512MB built-in capacity limit. Plus there is no dictionary or an option to write notes, but given the small size of this device and its long battery life it more than makes up for its drawbacks.
Overall, if you want a quality entry-level e-Reader for reading books on-the-go without all the bells and whistles of higher priced e-Readers then the PRS-300BC is an excellent choice.

The proliferation of tablet devices in the US market has contributed to a decline in the sale of net books, laptop and desktop PCs. According to analysts, most people who purchase slate devices are using them to replace their PCs and not to supplement them. So does this spell doom for laptop and PC makers? What are the reasons behind the spiking popularity of tablet devices over conventional PCs?
Ease of Use
One of the main reasons behind the popularity of slate computers is ease of use. Computer operation is mainly based on software and Operating Systems. If you are unfamiliar with a particular program, using it can prove virtually impossible. This is especially true for elderly folk who are not as tech savvy as their youthful counterparts.
Tablet computers on the other hand are as easy as they come. You can learn to navigate through the direct features and applications within hours. The email and browsing facilities on these devices are also simpler to maneuver than the typical PC web browser.
Apps Vs Software
There is a fine distinction between apps and software. Despite the fact that the two facilities perform almost similar functions, the latter requires more skills and experience than the former. You need to install software in your PC and take time to learn how to use it. With apps, the process is much simpler. You simply click on widgets and stuff begins to happen. Although software is the ultimate power behind both the PC and Slate gadgets, most of it has been relegated to the workplace.
Speed
Ten years ago, your laptop was the epitome of speed and convenience; nowadays it is your tablet PC. With a laptop computer, you have to find a secure hot spot, log in then conduct your online business. With a Slate device on the other hand, you can pay bills, transfer money, check emails and still listen to some music while you are at it from any location. Basically, a tablet computer combines the hustle and bustle of your PC or Laptop, and bring functionality closer to your fingertips.
Personalization
Another factor that contributes to the rising popularity of tablet devices is their personal nature. A touch screen gadget or Smartphone is certainly more personal than a desktop PC. You can store both work related and personal content in your hand-held device. As such, you can be able to work from any location with or without your PC.
There has been an increase in the popularity of tablet computers and Smartphones in the past few years. In the same period there has been a slow down in the sale of laptop computers and Desktop PCs. Nonetheless, PCs and laptops are not facing the prospect of total annihilation since they form the backbone of most industries and offices. However, the proliferation of tablet devices and Smartphones in the market raises significant questions about the future of PCs and laptop computers in residential areas, schools and colleges.

Tech fanatics and bloggers were quick to herald the introduction of tablet PC's as the next big thing since sliced bread. The media hype that followed was enough to send jitters down the spine of newspaper and magazine publishers. Sadly, the skyrocketing popularity of Slate PC's coincided with an ad recession that saw small time newspapers and magazines close shop. The new buzz word became apps and if you didn't own one, you were doomed in the future.
As it turns out, all these fears were unfounded. In general, there has been a decline in sale of subscription newspapers and magazines; but not due to Tablet Computers. According to analysts, reduction in newspaper sale was more as a result of the economic recession than technological revolution. In fact, the economic recovery has brought back advertisers and print sales have begun to stabilize.
The reason for the turnaround is simple to explain. The popularity of Tablet Computers and Smartphone's is not driven by news. Hard news falls behind games, music, movies, books and other entertainment applications found on these devices. Hence, most of the news content that is sampled on slates and Smartphone's is also read on print. As a matter of fact, many people use tablet computer news applications to supplement rather than replace their main news sources.
Initial reactions to Tablet Computers among publishers were varied. Some were quick to commission for news applications and immediately set up digital divisions. Others took a watch and wait approach, while the rest brushed off the threat. The first batch is probably the most frustrated currently since they are seeing no immediate returns. Most slate users do not find it necessary to pay for online news content. The figures for development and subscription of news applications are also quite prohibitive.
All in all, no forward-looking company can ignore the ever-growing tablet computer apps market. Currently, there are more than half a million apps in the market with three percent representing news companies. Albeit there is no particular rush for newspapers and magazines to join the apps market, the option should still be kept open. It is important for newspaper and magazine publishers to study the tablet consumer market before investing in apps. As such, they will be able to reinvent themselves online and not simply replicate what others are doing.
Tablet computers have become all the rage since they were introduced in the market a couple of years back. Many people thought that newspapers and magazines had been relegated to the deathbed. Contrary to this, publishers are witnessing substantial returns from sales and advertisement. However, many publishers have also taken note of the potential in the tablet computers apps market and joined the fray.

Despite the fact that you can now browse the internet, play games, watch videos, edit and view photo's, and listen to music while lounging at the pool, laying in bed, travelling on the bus or train, or basically anywhere you want, there are still a few key things that prevents laptops from going obsolete.
Price: laptops are generally still cheaper than tablets, especially when looking at high-end tablets like the iPad, Galaxy Tab, Xoom, etc.So that is a few of the most common reasons to keep your laptop a little while longer. The conclusion is this: for recreational use, a tablet is great. For work or business use though, a laptop is still better.

If you work in an office or a call center, there is a good chance that you use a headset with your work phone. This is a very common thing, because headsets can increase productivity and make your work much easier to accomplish. In order to really get any benefit out of a headset, though, it needs to be the right one.
What Kinds of Headsets are There?
There are several different types of headsets that can be use in the office:
• Monoaural - This means that there is one ear piece on the headset that can be listened through.
• Binaural -This indicates a headset that has two earpieces that can be listened through.

Multitasking is a way of life in the office and a headset can help you to work more efficiently.

• Protection against feedback noise (like from a fax machine)
Using the right headset can make your job a lot easier and increase your productivity in the workplace. Investing in proper quality headsets for your employees will create a better work atmosphere and a more professional image in the minds of your clients.
Corporate Telecommunications supply branded products from all major manufacturers, plus their own products, to small-to-medium-sized businesses, corporate and trade customers throughout the UK. In particular, they supply headsets and associated equipment to call centres and contact centres. This is where to get the best headset.

Wireless bluetooth technology was developed in 1994 by engineers at Ericsson in Sweden. Eventually, a small grouping of vendors such as Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Toshiba, and Nokia created the Bluetooth Special Interest Group(SIG) in order to formalize the technology and make it an industry standard.
Bluetooth relies on a frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio technology to relay wirelessly between a master gadget and as many as seven slave products. This means that your main device, whether it be a smart phone, a laptop computer, or and mp3 player, can have as many as seven distinct Bluetooth devices connected with it concurrently. Although it could possibly appear that all devices are doing the job at the same time, the actual master device essentially talks to each slave product in fast sequence. It occurs so rapidly you won't ever notice, even while playing tunes on Wireless bluetooth earbuds.
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Systems have an average range of about thirty ft. Of course, the farther apart you are, the less condition the transmission will have. It's usually no huge worry simply because Bluetooth devices are intended to operate in closeness to the master unit. A few examples of this include a wireless mouse and keyboard for your computer system, as well as wireless stereo speakers for your home music system.
Since Bluetooth technology also has such a short range, it consumes hardly any power. This is very important, because so many Bluetooth products are small and do not have room for big batteries. This allows you to use your device for extended durations before you must replace batteries or recharge.
There have been 3 major variations of Bluetooth, all versions are backwards compatible with previous variations.
Bluetooth v1: Bluetooth experienced a uncertain start. It didn't have essential security, was slow-moving, as well as was more prone to interference. Throughout up coming updates v1.1 in addition to v1.2, many of those early bugs were resolved.
Bluetooth v2: Released in '04, the primary difference in this variation was speedier information transfer without impacting energy consumption. In version v2.1 secure simple sharing was initially released which improved the pairing experience while strengthening safety measures.
Bluetooth v3: Adopted by the SIG during 2009, Bluetooth 3.0 data transfer rate as much as 24 Mbit/s, eight times greater in comparison with version 2. This is accomplished simply by mixing the Bluetooth together with 802.11 Wireless technology. Look for Bluetooth equipment featuring a +HS on the box, that means these devices supports this cutting edge high-speed technology.
Look for more related to Bluetooth on Wikipedia as well as the official Bluetooth web site. With Bluetooth remaining versatile, standardised, and utilizing small energy, it is the prefect technology for short range wireless technology.
There are many devices that use this technology including Bluetooth earbuds, speakers, and computer peripherals. You can read more about the former at Bluetooth earbuds online.

5. Apple TV
This media player scores high thanks to its great iTunes integration and interface. The box is also whisper quiet and very small. For people that have all their content stored on iTunes, this is simply the best box to get. Finally Airplay is the best invention for iDevice users... ever, and highly wanted in the world of tech.
4. D-link boxee box
This Black-green box tends to make heads turn due to its unusual design. It almost looks like the box was on the verge of being consumed by a greater power, but it hasn't. Instead it is very much grounded and available for users to buy. The Boxee box has powerful hardware from Intel, and supports virtually every format known to man, and it doesn't stop there. D-link has also added support for online functionality such as a full browser with flash, and plenty of apps. The only reason this device isn't higher up this list is because it's very energy consuming and pricey.
3. Western Digital Live Plus HD Media Player
This is the catchy name behind one of WD's most promoted product. The WD Live Plus is a great buy thanks to its incredible low price point (under $90) and support for most formats. On top of that this device is small, energy efficient and supports the network functionality one comes to expect from a media player. Little problems prevent this price fighter from conquering a higher place in this list.
2. AC Ryan HD2
The new Realtek chips fixes problems from older models and offers a much greater user experience. That ingredient powers the number 2 on this list: the AC Ryan HD2 series. The company have made a great name for themselves by offering fantastic support at a low price point, and it pays off. The Ac Ryan begins at just $90 (without HDD option) and tops at $130 (with HDD option). For those prices you get a great design, support for every format, a nice menu and great software support for anything the industry comes up with in the near future. The only downside is an iffy Internet functionality.
Before I announce the winner, first I want to mention a couple of players that didn't make this list of champions. First off is the Xtreamer Prodigy. This aluminium box was announced at CES in January and promises to be the best Realtek 1185 player on the market today. However 6 months after the unwrapping and it's still not available, and even worse, features are being dropped left and right. Most noticeably: the Airplay feature, which would've put this thing greatly on top of the AC Ryan.
Also forgotten is the Mede8er MED500X2. This is another Realtek player that does everything the AC Ryan does, but at a much higher price point. It's no looker either. Therefore I question the value of this player over other competitors.
And the winner is....
1. Popcorn Hour A-210
For me it's a no brainer. Syabas has made great name in the media market and they're back. The Popcorn Hour A-210 is a passive cooled device with an unmatched simplistic design. It supports all media formats known to man, has an app store, and the possibility of an optional HDD, which upgrades it from a player to a full fetched HUB. And thanks to the arguably superior Sigma chip, everything runs smooth and instant. The only downsides are the price and plastic feeling remote. (which isn't really bad but could've been better)
And those are my top 5 media players to watch this summer. As you may know, most of these players are very similar, which makes the overall feel of the device pay dividends. Right now the Popcorn Hour leaps ahead in that department, making it the best way to view your media on the big screen. Congratulations Syabas!

I consider my iPad to be the best productivity tool I have. Small and light enough to carry anywhere with an all-day battery life, it goes to meetings, on road trips, and on the train. Even though I leave my laptop at home I don't miss it at all! These two iPad apps give me access to my laptop, my important documents, and everything I need to be productive anywhere I go - for business or pleasure.
Screens by Edovia
Screens is a VNC client that allows you to connect to your desktop. There are two ways to connect to the remote desktop: over your local network or over the internet. Connecting over your local network is very easy. Simply launch the app and it will locate all the computers on your local network. Then, just touch the one you want. Download the Screens Connect applet from the Edovia website to make connecting over the internet just as easy. In three clicks and under five minutes your desktop is now accessible anywhere your iPad is. Screens requires that your home router supports the UPnP protocol. The Screens user experience is joyous, fluid, and fast. Even on a mediocre connection the graphics are crisp and the elegant user interface makes navigation easy, even for first time users. Your desktop is automatically resized to fit your iPad screen and you simply touch the screen to click on an object. This is the best VNC app available for iPad at the moment, and has been my best app purchase so far.
CloudApp by Linebreak
If you need to share documents easily, then CloudApp is your solution. CloudApp supports plugins called "raindrops" which allow the app to work with external applications such as iTunes and Firefox. This makes it easy to share content without having to switch applications. Additional raindrops are available to increase the integration points with the applications you use. CloudApp installs as an item in your menu bar. Sharing a file is a simple as dragging it from your finder window to the small cloud icon at the top of your screen. If multiple files are selected a zip archive is automatically created. As your file is uploading, CloudApp copies a URL for your upload to your Clipboard. You can use this URL for Facebook, LinkedIn, or anything else. CloudApp also has a keyboard shortcut you can use, making sharing a file a one-step process.
